Day 1 - ARRIVAL IN VANCOUVER
Arrive at Vancouver International Airport and transfer independently to your downtown hotel. Pick-up your Jonview Canada Roadbook at the front desk as you check-in. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore this attractive oceanside city. Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 2 - VANCOUVER
You will have the entire day to tour Vancouver and the surrounding area. Some suggestions: MacMillan Planetarium, Chinatown, Gastown, Granville Island, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Grouse Mountain and Stanley Park. Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 3 - VANCOUVER TO ASCHROFT (374KM)
Our first day on the road, you’ll leave seaside splendor of Vancouver behind as you travel into B.C.’s interior ranchland to arrive at the Sundance Guest Ranch for a 2 night stay. Family-owned and operated, the ranch is home to a herd of 80 horses and a corral of buffalo. Explore the surrounding countryside on a guided trail ride led by a friendly wrangler. Overnight at Sundance Guest Ranch. Dinner included.
Day 4 - ASCHROFT / SUNDANCE GUEST RANCH
Enjoy a full day on the ranch with complimentary use of outdoor pool, tennis court, volleyball net, horseshoe pitch and games room with dart board, billiards and card tables. You can also participate in a morning or afternoon guided horseback riding trail excursion. Immerse yourself in this glorious ‘western’ way of life! Overnight at Sundance Guest Ranch. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 5 - ASHCROFT TO CLEARWATER
Today you depart Ashcroft to follow the Thompson River as your route takes you through windswept cowboy country and into the gorges of the North Thompson River as it culminates in spectacular falls in the pristine parklands of Well Gray Provincial Park in Clearwater. Overnight in Clearwater. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 6 - CLEARWATER / WELS GREY PROVINCIAL PARK
You have a full day to enjoy the many outdoor recreational activities available in the park including hiking, canoeing, horseback riding or river rafting. We suggest a visit to Helmcken Falls, towering over one of the park’s most dramatic canyons. Overnight in Clearwater.
Day 7 - CLEARWATER TO JASPER (230 KM)
Taking your leave of beautiful Clearwater, you join the Yellowhead Highway as it descends down the eastern face of the Rockies into the fertile valleys of the Jasper region. The mountains part to reveal the aquamarine, glacier-fed lakes perched above the emerald valleys and grazing elk of Jasper National Park, one of Canada’s premiere wildlife and environmental refuges. Overnight in Jasper.
Day 8 - JASPER TO BANFF (285 KM)
Today you have the rare experience of driving through two of Canada’s first and most prestigious national parks. Departing Jasper, the highway will take you past beautiful Lake Louise, reflecting the Columbia Glacier in the distance between mountain peaks. Arriving in Banff, you will instantly be charmed by this perfect mountain village with its quaint restaurants, boutique retailers and lush forest surroundings. The Elk population nearly surpasses the human as they casually meander up and down the town streets. Overnight in Banff.
Day 9 - BANFF TO SEEBE (53 KM)
The mountains begin to recede as you head east from Banff along the Trans Canada Highway and cross into the beginnings of the foothills and their gentle slopes before leading down into the swaying grasslands of the Kananaskis ranchlands. The rolling plains framed by the towering peaks of the Rocky Mountains form the quintessential image of a rugged western landscape, making the area popular for film and television production crews. Overnight in Seebe. Dinner included.
Day 10 - SEEBE
The day is at leisure to discover Seebe and its surroundings. Glorious mountain scenery forms a beautiful backdrop for hiking, biking, horseback riding, golfing, swimming, tennis or a helicopter tour. You might also want to explore Bow Valley and Peter Lougheed Provincial Parks. Overnight in Seebe. Breakfast and dinner included.
Day 11 - SEEBE TO SALMON ARM (436 KM)
Today you travel the length of the Kananaskis Valley on your way to the provincial border. Once in British Columbia, your route is increasingly shrouded in lush vegetation as you draw closer to the fertile lands of and tranquil shores of Salmon Arm Bay where you will enjoy 2 nights in this temperate, inviting climate. Overnight in Salmon Arm. Breakfast included.
Day 12 - SALMON ARM TO MANING PARK (282 KM)
Day 13 - MANING PARK TO VANCOUVER / END OF TOUR (230 KM)On your way through the Okanagan Valley, make sure to keep an eye out for produce stands selling the products from one of Canada’s most lucrative fruit growing regions. Leaving the valley, you will enter the Cascade Mountains and Manning Provincial Park, home to 66,5000 hectares of diverse terrain and a variety of wildlife including coyotes, black bears, deer and over 190 species of birds. Overnight in Manning Park. A final scenic drive through the mountains to welcoming lights of Vancouver will mark the end of your package. At this time you may proceed to Vancouver International Airport to check-in for your return flight. |
