Day 1 -
ARRIVAL IN VANCOUVER
Arrive at Vancouver International Airport and transfer independently to your downtown hotel. Pick up your Jonview Canada Roadbook at the front desk as you check in. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore this attractive oceanside city. Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 2 -
VANCOUVER
Start the day with a tour of Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park. There is something for everyone - facts and fiction at the Story Centre, exhibits at the Living Forest, guided nature walks through the West Coast Rain Forest, shopping at the Trading Post, colourful totem poles and native carving. Experience a thrilling "tree top adventure" and discover seven acres of West Coast Rainforest through a maze of suspended footbridges swaying between towering Hemlocks, immense Red Cedars and colossal Douglas firs. More thrills await you at the "cliff-hanger walk" which takes you out over the canyon's cliff edge. The remainder of the day is at leisure to discover Vancouver and its many attractions. Day 3 -
VANCOUVER TO POWELL RIVER

Drive northwards along the coast of the Strait of Georgia past rugged scenery and serene inlets before boarding the first of several BC Ferries en route to Powell River. Set against the backdrop of the Coastal Mountains, Powell River offers great opportunities for outdoor activities including sea-kayaking, sailing, fishing, hiking and mountain biking. The coastal waters boast a rich variety of marine wildlife. Overnight in Powell River.
Day 4 -
POWELL RIVER TO TOFINO

Today, cross the Strait of Georgia by ferry to Vancouver Island. Keep a close eye out for possible orca sightings! As you make your way across the island en route to Tofino you'll travel through ancient rainforests and provincial parks, maybe even catching a glimpse of bears, deer, wolves and cougars. Overnight in Tofino.
Day 5 -
TOFINO
This fishing village attracts many visitors with its spectacular location on the Pacific coast and has become a premier whalewatching and bearwatching destination. Today you will encounter one of the most fearsome and fascinating animals that roam the West Coast of Vancouver Island - the black bear. At low tide, board a high-tech Zodiac boat and speed along the lush coastline to the bear's feeding grounds. When the tide goes out, the bears emerge from the forests and forage along the shores in search of rock crabs. These times offer excellent opportunities to view the inquisitive black bear in its natural habitat. Complete the day in one of the restaurants and make your stay a memorable one. Overnight in Tofino.
Day 6 -
TOFINO TO NANAIMO / PARKSVILLE

Today your drive back to the east coast of Vancouver Island en route to Nanaimo / Parksville takes you to many hidden gems, including native rock carvings at Sproat Lake and the picturesque falls at Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park. Overnight in Nanaimo or Parksville.
Day 7 -
NANAIMO / PARKSVILLE TO VICTORIA

Travel along the scenic Malahat Drive as you begin your southward journey to Victoria. Take a detour and visit the murals of Chemainus, the Forest Museum or the Quw'utsun' Cultural and Conference Centre in Duncan. Eventually your route ends in Victoria, the provincial capital of British Columbia. Visit the harbour area, the totem poles of Thunderbird Park or the Royal British Columbia Museum. End the day with a traditional High Tea at the elegant Fairmont Empress Hotel. Overnight in Victoria.
Day 8 -
VICTORIA
In Victoria, enjoy a coastal excursion, an exhilarating round trip of 50 to 80 kilometres in search of orcas, minke whales, grey whales, porpoises, harbour seals and other marine wildlife. You will ride aboard a covered boat with commentary by a certified marine biologist and naturalist. Following your excursion, drive through the serene beauty of the Saanich Peninsula for a visit to Butchart Gardens, one of Victoria's most celebrated sites and rated among the most beautiful gardens in the world. Once there, stroll through the colourful arrangements of the Sunken Garden, the Japanese and Italian Gardens, the English Rose Garden and the magnificent Ross Fountain. Overnight in Victoria.
Day 9 -
END OF TOUR

Take a mini-cruise on BC Ferries back to Vancouver and check in at Vancouver's International Airport for your return flight. |
