Arrive at Halifax International Airport and independently transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to prepare for the next day’s start of your maritime adventure.

Today the sun rises over the deep waters of the harbour, beginning a day of exploration and discovery on your exciting city tour of Halifax. You will see such city highlights as the Titanic Burial site, the Spring Garden Road area, Province House, Government House, Victorian Halifax Public Gardens and the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. You also may take to the waves in an optional whalewatching tour with onboard commentary by a qualified naturalist. Continental breakfast included.

Today we depart Halifax for the beautiful and world-famous Peggy’s Cove. Known for its lovely lighthouses, the Cove attracts visitors from all over the world. Afterwards we track up the coast of Margaret’s Bay, its clear blue waters providing one of Nova Scotia’s many natural harbours. Continuing down the coast, we arrive at the seaside town of Western Shore for our overnight stay after a visit to the historic fishing village of Lunenburg, home to the famous Atlantic Fisheries Museum. After breakfast we board our coach to continue on our journey to charming Digby, stopping along the way for a fascinating visit to Kejimkujik National Park. Upon arrival in Digby, we take a sightseeing tour of this quaint seaside town. Overnight in Digby. Full breakfast included.

Leaving Truro, we depart for the rocky cliffs of Baddeck. Nestled in the rugged forests and cliffs of Cape Breton, this area offers a dramatic meeting of land and sea with towering stone outcroppings interspaced by deep lochs, beloved by the Scottish immigrants that adopted this land as their own. We will also visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum on the site the famous inventor chose to build his vacation home and where he later took up permanent residence. Overnight in Baddeck. We begin our second day in Baddeck by starting out on the Cabot Trail as it plunges into the Cape Breton Highlands. The road switches back through the rugged forests as they ascend from the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. The lifeline between the many fishing villages that dot the coast, the Cabot Trail celebrates the original paths trodden by explorer John Cabot and his first meeting with the native Mi’kmaq people that originally inhabited the area.
