Your route along the scenic Icefields Parkway provides a spectacular view, but you may wish to enhance your experience by venturing directly onto the Athabasca Glacier – which represents a substantial portion of the entire ice blanket - in a special Ice Explorer (snocoach). Rafting - Kicking Horse River Day Trip (7.5 hours)

Leave Banff or Lake Louise in the morning for a guided white water rafting trip down the Kicking Horse River. Arrive at the base camp by noon and enjoy a delicious barbecue before easing into your exciting white water experience. After approximately half an hour on the water, you will be entering the fairly continuous stretches of class II to IV rapids! The entire river time is approximately 2.5 hours (faster in higher water), and you can join the guides in assessing portage and shotgun rapids. After your adventure, you are bussed back to the base camp to change in comfort. West suits, neoprene shoes, fleece, spray and life jackets and helmets are provided.
