Day 1 - ARRIVAL IN EDMONTON
Arrive at Edmonton’s International airport and transfer independently to your centrally located hotel. Pick up your information kit at the front desk as you check in. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the shops, taverns and pubs of the downtown core, forming your first impressions of Western Canada. Overnight in Edmonton.
Day 2 - EDMONTON TO JASPER
Leaving Edmonton behind, you will set your sights today on the magnificent Rocky Mountains. Feel the majesty of these mountains as you first travel through the foothills and then enter valley parklands where the craggy peaks loom larger the closer you get. After you have arrived in the quiet mountain town of Jasper, the remainder of the day is free to explore its charms. Overnight in Jasper.
Day 3 - JASPER
Today you board a coach transfer to the placid shores of Maligne Lake for a 90 minute cruise around its deep turquoise waters. The tour is operated in a glass enclosed, heated cruise boat and is fully narrated. Midway through there is a photo stop at Spirit Island where you may disembark for a short walk to the lookout point. You return to Jasper via coach transfer where the rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Jasper.
Day 4 - JASPER TO BANFF
Today you leave Jasper and travel south on your scenic transfer, every turn unveiling spectacular vistas of indomitable peaks, outstretched valleys, cascading waterfalls and colourful meadows along the famous Icefields Parkway as it winds through the untamed wilderness of Jasper National Park. At the Columbia Icefield, you will tour the surface of the Athabasca Glacier in an included ride on the specially constructed Ice Explorer snowcoach before continuing on to arrive in Banff. Overnight in Banff.
Day 5 - BANFF
Today is yours to discover why Banff has earned its reputation as a world-class resort town. Take a leisurely stroll through the town, browse through local shops and savour fine dining fare from all over the world. Some of the many local points of interest include: Bow Falls, Banff Springs Hotel, Surprise Corner, Hoodoos & Bow Valley Viewpoint, Lake Minnewanka and the Cave & Basin National Historic Site. Overnight in Banff.
Day 6 - BANFF TO CALGARY
Today you will board a coach for your transfer from Banff to Calgary. As you travel eastward the lofty peaks of the Rockies recede in the background as the rolling grasses of Alberta foothills stretch on to the horizon. The plains give way to the sparkling lights and tall buildings of today’s destination of Calgary. Overnight in Calgary.
Day 7 - CALGARY
Take a 4-hour sightseeing tour of Calgary today. Your city tour will introduce you to the sights and sounds of this cosmopolitan centre. You will observe both the historic and modern highlights of this dynamic and friendly city. Highlights include Fort Calgary, Scotsman Hill, admission to Canada Olympic Park and a ride up the ski-jump tower. Overnight in Calgary.
Day 8 - END OF TOUR
Independently transfer to Calgary International Airport in time to check-in for your return flight.
